Job Description

As a Security Officer Customer Service Patrol in Salt Lake City, UT, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a busy retail location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns to the appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random foot patrols throughout shopping areas, common areas, entrances, exits, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, observe visitor and vendor activity, and assist with directing people in accordance with location procedures and/or post instructions.
• Support day-to-day retail operations by remaining visible on post, communicating with location management when needed, and providing assistance during opening, closing, and/or high-traffic periods.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
• Possession of a guard card and/or license is preferred.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
