SUMMARY

Performs receiving, fabrication, in-process, final, and return material inspections with limited supervision. Verifies products and materials including fabricated metal components, wiring assemblies, and finished electrical assemblies meet drawing requirements, specifications, workmanship standards, and applicable quality standards using established inspection methods, engineering documentation, and test procedures.

Independently executes padmount inspections, load bank testing, and testing of products with established components and systems. Serves as a technical resource within the department, mentors QC I personnel, and supports continuous improvement through work instruction development.This position requires strict adherence to electrical safety procedures while performing testing on equipment ranging from 120V through 480V using equipment such as Hi-Pot testers, Megger testers, load banks, multimeters, current clamps, phase rotation testers, and other electrical test equipment. Safety, quality, and compliance with established procedures, work instructions, and testing protocols are essential functions of this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Perform receiving, in-process, final, and RMA inspections per established procedures.

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, and quality documentation.

• Verify dimensions, material types, finishes, labels, quantities, assembly workmanship, and wiring against requirements.

• Conduct electrical testing (120V–480V) using Hi-Pot testers, Meggers, multimeters, phase rotation testers, and load banks.

• Independently perform padmount inspections and load bank testing.

• Determine testing requirements for products using established components and standards.

• Perform receiving inspections using AQL sampling plans.

• Process inspection transactions in Epicor/MES and maintain accurate records.

• Create DMRs and evaluate RMAs per department procedures.

• Capture and upload photographs and supporting documentation for traceability.

• Perform basic troubleshooting and identify probable failure points using drawings and test results.

• Identify and communicate discrepancies to appropriate personnel.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Adhere to all department protocols, safety requirements, and work instructions.

· Maintain compliance with energized testing procedures, barriers, and PPE requirements.

· Support inspection activities across both buildings as required to meet business needs.

· Support torque calibration and preventive maintenance of inspection equipment.

· Maintain a clean, organized work area per 5S standards.

· Document inspection and test results accurately in required systems.

· Communicate nonconformances to Leads, Supervisors, and Engineering as needed.

· Train and mentor QC I personnel.

· Create and revise work instructions for established inspection and testing processes.

· Participate in continuous improvement activities.

· Ability to create and revise work instructions and inspection procedures.

· Ability to perform supplier inspections as required.

· Demonstrated ability to determine testing requirements for established products and components.

· Perform supplier inspections as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· 2–4 years of relevant experience.

· Advanced ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and product specifications.

· Solid understanding of QC principles, electrical testing, and inspection standards.

· Proficient with electrical test equipment including Hi-Pot testers, Meggers, multimeters, current clamps, and load banks.

· Ability to independently perform padmount inspections and load bank testing.

· Basic troubleshooting skills; able to identify probable failure points.

· Intermediate math and data analysis capabilities.

· Advanced computer skills including ERP/MES systems and data tracking.

· Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Standing 35%, sitting 10%, walking 25%, computer use 15%, bending 15%,
