Description
The Financial Aid Representative (Temporary, Part-Time) is responsible for document collection and counseling students on their potential aid eligibility to help cover tuition costs. This consists of, but is not limited to, guiding students through relevant documents and/or applications, calculating eligibility, setting up of aid, and communicating to students on how aid impacts their education.
Schedule: Part-time, onsite role with great midday hours! Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides exceptional customer service for students and staff:
- Ability to field a high volume of incoming calls (call center)
- Provide consistent outreach to all unpackaged students
- Respond to all communication (voicemail, email, IM) within 24 business hours
- Communicate with students in a professional manner
- Foster an engaged working relationship with institution counterparts
Counsel’s students, parents, and other interested parties on the availability of financial aid programs:
- Understands what programs are available and the requirements for each
- Be able to articulate technical topics in a relatable fashion
- Explores and explains all relative options
- Pursues understanding over delivery of information
Is a steward of the Student Finance Department;
- Keep sensitive information safe and secure
- Successfully implementing new procedures
- Analyze and calculate awards accurately
- Collect and store appropriate documents
- Other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
- High School Degree or equivalent, associate degree preferred
- Prior financial aid experience a plus
- Prior call center experience a plus
- Prior Salesforce experience a plus

The expected hourly range for this position is between $24.00 and $27.00. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility. The Financial Aid Representative (Temporary, Part-Time) is not eligible to participate in the Company's benefit plan or receive vacation or holiday pay but are eligible for the enhanced Employee Assistance Program.
