Job Title: Mental Health Counselor - Clinician - Therapist

Department: Professional Counseling - Outpatient

Status: Full-Time, hourly non-exempt 

Reports To: Executive Director of Behavioral Health

Compensation Starting Pay: $62,558 - $63,980 annually

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.  

• Assessment of mental health conditions
• Treatment plan development
• Provide therapeutic services for adults, children, and families.
• Case Management
• Utilize a variety of therapeutic interventions to address clinical needs
• Advocacy, referral and linkage to recommended community resources
• Complete required data entry and paperwork in accordance with program and agency policies and procedures, including but not limited to opening requirements, assessments, treatment/recovery plans, progress notes, treatment authorizations and authorizations of medical necessity.

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/PREFERRED

• Degree/Field Required: Master’s degree in a Human Services field (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.)
• Degree/Field Preferred: Master’s degree in a Human Services field (Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, etc.)
• Experience Required: Minimum of one-year relevant job experience in counseling/case management
• Licenses/Certifications Required: LPC or LSW is required
• Licenses/Certifications Preferred: LCPC or LCSW, or actively working towards this licensure, is preferred 
• Proficient Computer Skills In: Outlook, Word, Database Management Software  
• Expert Computer Skills In: Outlook, Word, Database Management Software  

VEHICLE RELATED REQUIREMENTS:

• Access to reliable transportation to get to/from work: Required. 
• Access to a reliable automobile: Required.
• Must provide proof of auto liability insurance (and continue to while working in this position): Required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license: Required.
