Quantity Surveyor – SMPP & Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I)
Location: Johannesburg
Are you a commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with experience on heavy industrial, mining or EPC/EPCM projects?
A well-established engineering and construction organisation is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its growing commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects across multiple sectors, where you'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and project budgets.
- Manage contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and assess progress valuations and payment certificates.
- Monitor project costs and ensure effective cost control.
- Manage variation orders, claims and final accounts.
- Support commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
- Produce regular commercial and financial reports.
- Identify and manage commercial risks across multiple projects.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or National Diploma in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying experience on industrial, mining or EPC/EPCM projects.
- Proven experience working with SMPP and/or Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimating, contract administration, valuations, variations and cost control.
- Solid understanding of construction contracts and commercial management.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quantity Surveying software.
