Essential Functions:
- Summarizing legal documentation and communication information to the Senior Management Team
- Performing records research and performing legal research
- Coordinating research with community management team and/or key players
- Checking legal forms for accuracy
- Preparing reports and correspondence
- Drafting all sorts of legal documents
- Process and follow-up on insurance claims
- Sit through mediations on insurance claims
- Maintain knowledge of state and local regulations for AL, MC and SNF communities
- Maintain/track and submit paperwork for all license at each community
- Provide training/education and support at the Community level to include worker’s compensation and EEOC issues
- Occasionally review associate handbook, resident handbook, resident agreements, community licensures, etc. for compliance and correctness

Qualifications/Skills/Educational Requirements:
- Must have a Bachelors degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience
- Minimum of four years-experience in a healthcare or real estate legal department or law firm
- Knowledge of healthcare laws, real estate transactions, compliance laws and regulations
- Understand governance, compliance, regulatory environments and litigation in a healthcare environment
- Excellent organizational skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and will be able to work in a high paced, timeline driven corporate office setting
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience using Microsoft Office and Outlook software. Basic typing skills required
- Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, associates, residents, family members, state regulatory agencies, hospitals, and outside contacts
- Knowledge of current Federal and State laws pertaining to assisted living and/or memory care communities
- Must meet all state health requirements
- Able to make independent decisions
- Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens
