Position Summary

The RNS Manager is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of the Regulatory News Service (RNS) function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing and distribution of regulatory announcements while maintaining the highest standards of customer service, operational excellence, risk management, and regulatory compliance. The role provides leadership to a team operating across a 24x5 environment, ensuring service delivery meets business, client, and market expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and oversee all RNS operational activities, ensuring announcements are processed accurately and distributed within established service levels.
  • Maintain operational resilience and manage resource allocation to support business requirements across all shifts.
  • Monitor team performance against key operational, quality, and customer service metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and client experience.

Risk, Control and Governance

  • Act as an escalation point for complex announcements, client issues, and operational incidents.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, regulatory, and reputational risks.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls, procedures, regulatory obligations, and audit requirements.
  • Maintain and regularly review operational procedures and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Customer and Stakeholder Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Support strategic client engagements and ensure effective resolution of customer concerns.
  • Collaborate with Relationship Managers, Product Teams, Technology Teams, and other business areas to improve service delivery and support business objectives.

People Leadership and Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop team members through regular performance reviews, mentoring, and training.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and operational excellence.
  • Support succession planning, workforce planning, recruitment, and talent development initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement and wellbeing across the team.

Product and Business Expertise

  • Maintain expert knowledge of RNS products, services, regulatory requirements, and market developments.
  • Provide guidance and support to clients and team members on complex product and operational matters.
  • Participate in business change projects, product enhancements, testing activities, and service improvement initiatives.

Reporting and Strategic Support

  • Prepare and present operational reports, performance metrics, risk assessments, and business updates to senior management.
  • Support budget planning, capacity management, and strategic initiatives within the RNS function.
  • Contribute to location strategy, operational scalability, and organisational growth initiatives.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Commerce, Business Analytics, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Significant experience in operations, financial services, customer service, regulatory services, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading and developing operational teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Experience managing risk, controls, compliance, and operational governance.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and operational reporting tools.
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high service standards.
