Recreation Leader V - Aquatics Maintenance

The City of Goodyear is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Recreation Leader 5 – Aquatics Maintenance. In this role, you will help ensure our facilities remain clean, safe, and ready for the community at both the Goodyear Aquatic Center and the Loma Linda Pool.

This is a part-time position offering up to 19 hours per week, with a schedule focused primarily on weekends.

Examination Process: Only a limited number of the most highly qualified applicants meeting the City's requirements will be invited for an interview.

Examination process for the position will include: Interview

• Conduct daily water testing of chlorine, pH, and alkalinity levels.
• Maintain overall cleanliness of pool facilities including deck, pools, furniture, water features, pump room, etc.
• Perform general maintenance on pool systems and equipment.
• Submit daily logs including pool chemical checks, inventory, shift reports, safety checks, etc.
• Perform work primarily outdoors in varying weather conditions, standing for extended periods of time, and performing physical duties that require lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Maintain proper water chemistry levels and safely handle pool chemicals.
• Ability to work independently, identify tasks and facility needs, and follow daily checklists.
  • Follow all city safety standards, including county and local requirements, ADOSH, and OSHA safety standards.

• Valid Driver's License.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• No formal aquatics maintenance experience required. Knowledge of pools, aquatic facilities and equipment is preferred.
