- To provide direction, control and overall management of the Central branches and their operations in accordance with Sime Darby’s core values and purpose.
- Direct the day-to-day operational management of the business, applying as required a hands-on approach in delivering solutions on strategic, technical, commercial, operational and personnel related challenges which impact on customer service and performance.
- Take responsibility for the financial health of Central branches and ensure that appropriate financial and auditing systems and risk management controls are implemented, to safeguard the organization financial and other assets, and ensure the organization is run efficiently and effectively.
- Provide motivation and inspiration to staff and work with senior management to ensure a common vision and sense of purpose at every level, in which individuals constantly seek to learn and to improve their own performance and the performance of the organization as a whole.
- Ensure that there is a common understanding among the Branches’ staff and other key stakeholders of the organization’s vision, mission, strategic objectives and strategic priorities
- Lead the various Branches' teams (New CAT/SEM machine, used equipment, equipment rental and product support) in achieving their goals and objectives and ultimately ensuring all customer requirements are delivered on time, within budget, technically compliant and to the highest standard of safety, quality and operational excellence.
- Ensure and emphasis is placed on further developing a high-performing, innovative and influential operational support team capable of meeting customer requirements.
- To assume the responsibility of all aspects of the operations in Central regions including the implementation and evaluation of policies, campaigns, financial, marketing logistics, communications and administrative programs
- Ensure the day-to-day operations maintain a continued alignment with overall corporate policy, strategy and direction.
- Lead the constant drive and focus to improve operational efficiency via process, people and practical measures. In effect raise the bar on business performance delivery.
- Deliver performance management objectives, agreed business plans, budget and target and report on both plus and minus factors impacting on the business.
- To drive improvements and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities in line with Continuous Improvement approach at the branch.
- To stay abreast of competing markets and provide reports on market movement and penetration whilst assessing the local market conditions and identifying current and prospective business opportunities.
- Ensure that the facilities and infrastructure of Central branches are fit for purpose, kept secure, maintained and meet Safety Standards at all times.
