Research Senior Technician - Comprehensive Cancer CenterDepartment:
Medicine | Radiation OncologyThe Guo Laboratory at The Ohio State University is seeking a research technician, eager to support research studying the molecular mechanism of tumor cells manipulating glucose, glutamine and lipid metabolism.
The successful candidate will be motivated, have experience performing routine laboratory management tasks as well as experience in performing basic laboratory procedures, and have a collaborative attitude.
Additional Information:
Primary Responsibilities
- Create and maintain records of materials and sample inventory.
- Purchase supplies for the laboratory and record usage for future reference.
- Communicate with outside vendors for supplies, orders, and promotions.
- Coordinate with grant managers for updated dates of use and funds available.
- Assist other lab members in performing in vitro assays, animal work and wet lab assays.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, or in a comparable field or discipline.
- Demonstrated ability to perform laboratory management tasks (including but not limited to: ordering, documentation, sample inventory)
- Motivated to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with in vitro work (cell culture, cell treatment, organoid and single cell sample processing).
- Ability to perform routine laboratory assays (including: Western blot, confocal imaging, IHC staining and imaging, H&E staining and imaging, flow cytometry, and PCR).
- Comfortable in small rodent handling and animal procedures.
- Prior experience and comfort presenting research.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED, 2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
