Your Role:
This is more than a traditional controlling position. As our Senior Controller, you'll be instrumental in professionalizing our finance operations, improving reporting capabilities, and establishing robust financial processes that enable better business decisions.

Working closely with the Head of Finance and senior leadership, you'll help design and build the controlling function from scratch, developing reporting frameworks, enhancing forecasting accuracy, improving financial visibility, and creating scalable processes that will support the company's next stage of growth. This is a highly visible individual contributor role, offering the opportunity to make a lasting impact without direct people management responsibilities.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Build and develop the controlling function, establishing scalable reporting processes and financial controls from the ground up.
• Partner closely with Finance leadership to improve the quality, accuracy, and consistency of financial reporting and analysis.
• Own monthly variance analysis, cash and open claims reconciliation reports, identifying trends and providing meaningful insights into business performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning activities.
• Drive improvements to financial processes, including month-end close timelines and reporting standards.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to strengthen communication and ensure alignment between accounting and forecasting activities.
• Help establish robust financial governance as the business continues to expand.
• Develop insightful management reports and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making across the business.
• Continuously identify opportunities to automate, simplify, and improve finance processes and reporting capabilities.

What You'll Need:

• 5+ years of experience in Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), or a similar finance function.
• Basic knowledge and understanding of German GAAP (HGB).
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills, with exceptional proficiency in Excel.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
• A strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
• The ability to perform effectively under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
• Confidence building new processes, reports, and frameworks from scratch in an evolving environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
• A proactive mindset and a genuine desire to improve how finance supports the wider business.

Nice If You Have:

• Experience working within subscription-based or SaaS businesses.
• Experience using FP&A or Controlling systems and tools.
• Power BI or other business intelligence reporting experience.
• Experience presenting financial insights to senior leadership and executive stakeholders.
• German language skills.
