Description
DUTIES
- Ensure the safety of patrons.
- Enforce all facility policies, rules and regulations.
- Communicate with members and guests in a professional manner.
- Regularly participate in training sessions.
- Arrive on time for shift and maintain timesheet with accurate number of hours worked.
- Find substitute to cover shift if an absence is necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 16 years of age or older.
- Ability to swim in shallow and deep water to include treading water.
- Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
- Ability to support child and adult body weight in the water.
- One year of swim instructor experience, preferred but not required.
- Avid swimmer, passionate about the sport of swimming, dedicated to the cause of water safety and drowning prevention.
- High-energy personality, outgoing and enjoys working in a fast paced environment.
- Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with parents/guardians.
- Desire to provide excellent customer service to participants, which will result in an exceptional aquatic experience.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential function of the position.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Must comply with organizational and departmental policies.
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a part-time position. This position’s hours will vary based on Activity Center and pool hours.
