Purpose:
To provide persons with intellectual/developmental disabilities an exciting camp experience by providing the support and assistance needed.
Qualifications:
- Must successfully complete the required pre-employment Background and Drug Screenings
- Preferable possess a Valid Drivers License that meets company standards for approved driver status.
- Must possess basic computer skills and be proficient in the English Language (written and oral)
- High School Diploma or equivalent if required by work location
- Must be 18 Years of age or Older
Essential Functions:
- Beginning June 15, Counselors are requrired to attend a mandatory Four-Day Training course.
- Beginning June 22, Counselors are required to attend a Mandatory two-hour weekly training session every Monday throughout the camp season.
- Provide continuous engagement, support, and guidance to ensure each camper can participate in camp activities to the best of their ability.
- The Counselor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy and supportive environment by actively monitoring Campers need remaining attentive to potential risk, and taking proactive measures to safeguard each camper's health, safety and well being
- Duties include but are not limited to the following: hygiene care, assisting with/ showering/ bathing/toileting, oral care, dressing, assisting with/ meals-feeding, and any additional care required
- Willingness to participate in any additional responsibilities to support the overall success of the camp program as necessary.
