Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) - Full Time Position

Reports To: Director of Nursing / Registered Nurse Supervisor
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team in a full-time capacity. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, demonstrating proficiency in fundamental nursing practices and maintaining current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification. This position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Primary Responsibilities
Patient Care and Assessment
- Provide direct patient care including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document findings accurately in electronic medical records
- Monitor patient conditions and report any significant changes to the supervising RN or physician immediately
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility as needed
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing and ensure proper handling and documentation
- Perform wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures within LVN scope of practice
Medication Administration and Management
- Administer oral, topical, subcutaneous, and intramuscular medications according to physician orders and facility protocols
- Maintain accurate medication administration records and ensure proper documentation
- Monitor patients for medication side effects and therapeutic responses
- Educate patients and families about prescribed medications, including proper usage and potential side effects
- Maintain medication storage areas in compliance with regulatory standards
Emergency Response and Life Support
- Maintain current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) certification and respond appropriately to emergency situations
