In addition to program oversight, the Director is responsible for handling complex and significant trade compliance matters and continuously strengthening the segment’s overall compliance framework.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Establish management accountability for all core trade compliance functions, including export controls, customs classification and valuation, preferential trade programs, denied party screening, technology transfers, recordkeeping, audits, training, and proposal and technical data review.

  • Provide day-to-day operational guidance on export compliance matters, including licensing, agreements, jurisdiction and classification requests, and related documentation.

  • Provide operational guidance on customs compliance matters, including tariff classification, valuation, and preferential trade agreements.

  • Monitor high-risk compliance areas, recommend mitigation strategies, and take appropriate corrective actions.

  • Track regulatory and business operational changes to identify emerging compliance risks.

  • Ensure timely closure of internal audit findings and corrective actions.

  • Set compliance priorities, establish annual goals, and participate in performance evaluations.

  • Develop and deliver trade compliance training.

  • Develop and maintain trade compliance policies, procedures, and systems.

  • Coordinate with Corporate International Trade Compliance on government inquiries, investigations, and voluntary disclosures.

  • Serve as a designated Empowered Official.

  • Oversee customs broker and freight forwarder relationships.

  • Support trade compliance due diligence for acquisitions.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in business, law, international trade, or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible trade compliance experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. export and customs regulations; familiarity with non-U.S. regimes.

  • Leadership experience managing and mentoring compliance staff.

  • Strong judgment, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must be a U.S. Person under export control regulations.

  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.

Salary Range:

$150,400.00-$200,500.000
