As the AI Scaling Lead, you will play a critical role in accelerating AI adoption and value realization across GBM's global manufacturing network. Acting as the bridge between site innovation, network priorities, and enterprise transformation, you will lead the identification, development, scaling, and sustainment of AI-enabled solutions that improve operational performance, productivity, quality, and colleague experience.
The Lead will connect Sites, AI Squads, Site AI Champions, and Network resources through disciplined, sprint-based execution, ensuring successful solutions are rapidly replicated, standardized, and embedded across the network. The role requires a unique blend of manufacturing expertise, strategic thinking, change leadership, and AI/digital acumen to help build an AI-native organization.
This role will be instrumental in helping GBM realize its vision of becoming an AI-native manufacturing organization by transforming successful global and local innovations into scalable enterprise capabilities that deliver measurable value.
What You Will Achieve
Lead and prioritize AI Squad initiatives across GBM, ensuring delivery against business priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Identify, evaluate, and champion high-value AI opportunities in partnership with global and site teams.
• Accelerate the replication of proven AI solutions across sites, reducing duplication and maximizing enterprise impact.
• Establish scalable playbooks, standards, and best practices that enable rapid adoption and sustainable value creation.
• Partner closely with Site AI Champions and business leaders to drive engagement, adoption, and capability building.
• Advance AI fluency and change adoption across the network, helping colleagues confidently leverage AI tools and ways of working.
• Monitor value realization, adoption metrics, and implementation effectiveness while proactively removing barriers to success.
• Foster a culture of experimentation, learning, and continuous improvement through agile, sprint-based delivery.
• Serve as a trusted advisor and connector between local innovation efforts and enterprise AI governance, strategy, and standards.
• Contribute to building an AI-native manufacturing organization that delivers competitive advantage through scalable digital solutions.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Focus Areas
- Squad Leadership & Opportunity Development:
- Lead cross-functional AI Squads through sprint-based delivery, holding teams accountable for outcomes and timelines.
- Work with Squads and Site Teams to surface and shape new AI opportunities with clear business impact.
- Assess opportunities based on strategic alignment, business value, scalability, and implementation readiness.
- Prioritize and sequence squad capacity across sites based on impact and readiness.
- Facilitate decision making, stakeholder alignment, and issue resolution across multiple sites and functions.
- Ensure solutions are developed with sustainability, scalability, compliance, and user adoption in mind.
- Site-to-Network Replication & Local Adoption
- Identify site-grown solutions ready for replication and own their rollout across the network.
- Codify proven solutions into playbooks and standards for fast, consistent reuse.
- Align replicated solutions with network standards and governance, in partnership with the AI Acceleration and Transformation Office.
- Partner with Site AI Champions to tailor rollout to local context without diluting the standard.
- Gather site feedback to spot adoption barriers early.
- Turn recurring barriers into improvements to governance, training, or documentation.
- Standardize and harmonize approaches to maximize impact across sites.
- Implement Enterprise and PGS Solution Adoption
- Lead AI Squads through sprint-based delivery of new AI solutions, holding teams accountable for outcomes and timelines.
Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements)
- Bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of experience; OR a master's degree with at least 7 years of experience; OR a PhD with 5+ years of experience.
- Proven track record leading site-based manufacturing, automation, or supply chain operations.
- Ability to influence and align stakeholders across global, cross-functional, and matrixed organizations, including senior leaders.
- Experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences manufacturing within a regulated environment.
- Experience bridging operations with digital and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams through sprint-based or agile delivery.
- Strong program management skills, with experience prioritizing and delivering multiple initiatives at once.
- Adaptable and resourceful in a fast-changing, ambiguous environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working across matrixed regional structures.
- Experience with AI, advanced analytics, or automation applied to manufacturing operations.
- Lean, Six Sigma, or IMEx leadership experience.
- Experience building playbooks or standards for scaling solutions across multiple sites.
- Experience as a Site AI Champion or similar grassroots capability-building role.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $271,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
