Role Overview

As Accounting Manager, Shared Services, you will oversee a specific accounting function within a business center and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly activities are delivered accurately and on time. You will establish and maintain accounting systems and controls that support reliable financial information, while leading a team and partnering with stakeholders to improve processes and strengthen compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a single accounting function within the financial shared services organization and ensure smooth day-to-day execution.
• Plan and manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities to support close, reporting, and operational deadlines.
• Establish and maintain accounting systems, procedures, and controls that improve the accuracy of financial information.
• Review financial data, reconciliations, and journal entries to support consistent and reliable accounting output.
• Manage and develop team members aligned to the specific financial function.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders across finance and business teams to resolve issues and support service delivery.
• Identify process improvements that strengthen efficiency, quality, and standardization within the shared services environment.
• Support audit and compliance requirements as needed for the accounting function.

Qualifications

• University degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations, ideally within a shared services environment.
• Experience leading people, assigning work, and supporting team performance.
• Proficiency with accounting and financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across functions.
• Experience supporting accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and accounting controls.

Nice to Have

• Experience in a big four environment or in an accounting controller role.
• SAP experience.
• Exposure to US GAAP, SOX controls, or internal and external audit processes.
