Description
The Team
Join our specialist Critical Systems team and help shape the future of mission-critical buildings. We work on complex, high-performing data centre projects, with a focus on making them more energy efficient, sustainable and cost effective to operate.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team known for world-leading expertise, proactive problem solving and a strong commitment to technical excellence. We’re passionate about sharing knowledge, supporting professional development and helping our people build rewarding careers.
Working closely with global clients, we help develop, improve and deliver standard design templates across the world, giving our engineers a unique opportunity to influence the future of data centre design. Alongside this, we also deliver a wide range of bespoke data centre projects, offering variety, challenge and exposure to some of the most exciting work in the sector.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, client-focused Electrical Engineer to join our Critical Systems team and play a key role in delivering innovative electrical design solutions for some of the world’s most notable and large-scale data centre projects.
This role is being advertised across several Cundall offices, with opportunities available in London, Birmingham, Dublin, Madrid and Warsaw.
You’ll work as part of a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team, collaborating with colleagues across different specialisms to drive the successful delivery of technically excellent, commercially strong projects.
In this role, you’ll be closely involved in the design process and the production of high-quality design deliverables, while managing and supporting your immediate team of engineers. You’ll help monitor budgets and programmes, review designs, and communicate confidently with wider project and client teams.
Your technical expertise, enthusiasm and leadership skills will help you manage, motivate and inspire colleagues, including supporting the development of less experienced engineers.
You’ll also have the guidance and support of senior colleagues within the team, giving you the opportunity to continue developing your own expertise while contributing to outstanding project outcomes.
The Skills
With a degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (MEng or BEng), you’ll bring significant experience from an electrical engineering role, ideally within critical systems or data centres. We’re also open to considering equivalent electrical design experience gained in other sectors.
You’ll have a strong track record of managing small to medium-scale projects and leading small teams of engineers, consistently delivering high-quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations.
Your experience will include producing electrical designs such as schematic diagrams, layouts and calculations, as well as preparing specifications and project reports, carrying out site inspections and surveys, developing detailed designs and contributing to project meetings. Through this, you’ll support project teams in delivering excellent, practical and innovative electrical design solutions.
We’re looking for someone who can bring both technical capability and a collaborative mindset. Key qualities include:
- Confidence in taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion.
- A good understanding of Revit.
- A proactive approach to problem solving, with the ability to help guide the team towards effective solutions.
- An appreciation of the importance of collaboration in a multidisciplinary design environment.
- Strong organisation, clear communication and confidence working with clients.
With an established Critical Systems team, a strong project pipeline and a supportive team culture, this is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career, develop your specialist expertise and contribute to work that has a real impact on the future of resilient, sustainable data centre design.
