Job Description Summary:
The Data Governance Analyst (DGA) is a transformational position that requires working with business owners and across the organization in facilitating cross functional team engagement. The Data Governance Analyst Lead must be able to work independently and with others to determine best course in bringing an enterprise data governance mindset to create and adhere to data usage and quality standards. As a Data Governance Analyst Lead you are expected to help the organization take the right next step in being able to deliver enterprise analytics in the form of ‘trusted data’ insights.
Competencies that are paramount to Data Governance Analyst success include ability to translate business users requests into data governance requirements, source analysis and data stewardship evangelization to help improve enterprise data maturity. The Data Governance Analyst is expected to thrive in an entrepreneurial agile scrum environment. As a Data Governance Analyst you must exude professionalism with the Informatics team and especially abroad with executive management, senior leadership, data stewards and our user community to help implement and adhere to data governance best practices.
Position Qualifications/Requirements
Education:
- Healthcare professional degree qualification (Ph.D., MD., RN., CPhT., RPhT.) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in business analytics, computer science, engineering, accounting, finance, management information systems or another related field. In lieu of degree, 6+ years of experience is required or the equivalent combination for education and experience.
Certifications/Licenses:
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
Previous Experience:
- Professional clinical experience within clinical oncology preferred
- 6+ years in an active healthcare big-data integration experience with multiple heterogenous data sources with data cleansing and reference/master data management on an enterprise data warehouse to create a centralized ‘trusted data’ set for data analysis.
- Initiating a data governance program in the formation of operating framework, policies/procedures and data standardization.

- Communication Skills: Good command of the English language. Second language is an asset but not required. Effective communication skills (oral, written, presentation), is an active listener, and effectively provides balanced feedback.
- Customer Service & Organizational Awareness: Strong customer focus. Ability to build an engaging culture of quality, performance effectiveness and operational excellence through best practices, strong business and political acumen, collaboration and partnerships, as well as a positive employee, physician and community relations.
- Self-Management: Effectively manages own time, conflicting priorities, self, stress, and professional development. Self-motivated and self-starter with ability work independently with limited supervision. Ability to work remotely effectively as required.
- Must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-site environment with demonstrated ability to juggle competing priorities and demands from a variety of stakeholders and sites.
- Leadership and Mentoring: Effectively lead and facilitate group discussions, coach, mentor, motivate, and engage others to align to a common goal. Ability to effectively lead projects from inception through implementation and assessment.
- Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
- Profound competency in SQL required.
- Data governance knowledge of industry best practice and leading software providers to assist in data steward implementation, maintenance and support.
