Job Description Summary
The Design Liaison Engineering team is the primary connection between Design Engineering and the global supply chain. As the director of this team, you'll own day-to-day supply chain support across core products for our customers. You will coach and grow a team of engineers whose work directly impacts the reliability and performance of GE Vernova's gas power product lines through a variety of factory and vendor support, second source supplier qualifications, dispositioning nonconforming hardware, supporting lean activities, cost reduction, scrap recovery and pre-emptive scrap and non-conformance reductions as well. Additionally supporting field RCA’s especially pertaining to supply chain escapes and consulting on NPI hardware manufacture.Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & People Development
- Lead and Empower: Manage, mentor, and inspire a high-performing global team. Foster a culture of psychological safety, cross-collaboration, and continuous improvement, while owning all personnel activities, including talent acquisition, performance feedback, and professional development
- Drive Transformation: Partner with Manufacturing and Sourcing to develop an actionable roadmap to achieve 1% CoPQ reduction as a function of revenue. Prioritize initiatives that maximize operational efficiency, improve KPI visibility, and deliver significant business value
- Stakeholder Advocacy: Act as the primary interface between the execution team and senior leadership, providing executive-level visibility into project progress, risks, and ROI. Champion organizational readiness for new technologies, including AI and automation integration
Operational Excellence & Lean Manufacturing
- Champion Lean Culture: Lead and facilitate Kaizen events and Lean Action Workouts. Embed Lean flow and design-for-producibility principles into the team’s standard work, ensuring a wing-to-wing approach to process documentation and operational maturity.
- Supply Chain Quality Ownership: Direct the disposition of non-conforming hardware and lead systemic defect reduction initiatives on the magnitude of 100,000 defects eliminated annually, based on predicted growth. Drive pre-emptive actions to reduce scrap and process non-conformances across the global supplier network, to help unlock capacity and improve quality across the Gas Power business
- Integrated Delivery: Oversee the industrialization phase of New Product Introduction (NPI) and second-source qualifications. Develop and maintain technical specifications, qualification guidelines, and performance frameworks that promote scalability and consistency (e.g., Line of Balance). Support AI driven design projects incorporating Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly methodologies
Technical Rigor & Business Impact
- Apply Technical Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing to evaluate special processes such as investment castings, forgings, 3D printing and advanced coatings. Provide technical consultation on NPI hardware, support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, and ensure engineering standards are met with precision
- Deliver Business Value: Apply strong business acumen to assess complex tradeoffs and make decisive, data-driven decisions. Implement new methodologies and technical solutions that enhance part function, reduce cycle time, and drive tangible cost-out: thus, unlocking significant business benefit through improved quality, part standardization, increased yield and lower costs. Provide a major contribution to delivering > $500MM in Product Cost Out to drive EBITA margin through the LTS period
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Global Supply Chain (GSC) and the broader engineering community to share best practices, align on business strategy, and ensure cohesive delivery across functions

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Science, or Supply Chain from an accredited university/college
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a related discipline
- Experience leading global teams
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and senior leadership
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with gas turbine design, manufacturing, or related power generation hardware
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing processes and lean manufacturing methods
- Experience with GE Vernova Gas Power product lines
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $204,000 and $306,000 USD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
