Job details
This role is central to the technical and commercial success of the business. As Senior Façade Engineer, you will take ownership of complex facade engineering projects, providing technical expertise and ensuring high standards of quality, compliance and client service.
Working across a range of projects, you will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, while supporting the development of colleagues and contributing to the continued growth of the business.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role suited to someone who enjoys solving complex problems, taking ownership and delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
What you will do
- Manage facade design and engineering challenges.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors and consultants.
- Prepare Gateway 2 submissions for HRBs.
- Carry out site, factory and installation inspections.
- Lead façade failure investigations and remedial works.
- Review designs, drawings and technical deliverables.
- Develop technical specifications and design standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Prepare fee proposals and support business development.
- Maintain strong client relationships.
- Mentor and support junior team members.
- Contribute to industry events, forums and publications.
- Support continuous improvement and quality standards.
Who you are
You are an experienced facade engineering professional with strong technical expertise and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You will ideally have:
- A degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Extensive facade design and engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of facade systems and detailing.
- Experience delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
- Experience with inspections, testing and investigations.
- Strong technical and commercial skills.
- Excellent communication and client management skills.
- Ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Professional membership, or working towards membership, is advantageous.
