Team Leader - Northern Ireland/ScotlandJob Location: Belfast/Glasgow
Job Type: Permanent
Remuneration: Competitive salary taking into account skills, experience and qualifications
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader to join our Domestic Major Loss team across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
This is a hybrid role that combines people leadership with hands-on operational responsibility. As Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading, coaching and supporting a team of Adjusting Executives across Northern Ireland and Scotland, while also undertaking Adjusting Executive responsibilities to support Loss Adjusters with the progression of Domestic Major Loss claims.
Operating on a roughly 50/50 basis, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through both team development and customer service excellence. You'll lead by example, providing guidance and support to your team while remaining actively involved in the day-to-day claims journey.
If you're passionate about developing people, driving performance and creating positive customer outcomes, this could be the perfect next step in your career.
No two days are the same. You may be conducting one-to-one coaching sessions, supporting team performance and helping colleagues navigate complex claim scenarios in the morning, before working alongside Loss Adjusters to progress claims, liaising with policyholders, insurers, contractors and suppliers to ensure claims move forward smoothly and efficiently.
The role requires excellent communication skills, strong technical knowledge and a collaborative approach. You'll act as a key point of support for your team while helping to deliver a high-quality service for our clients and customers.
Imagine being the reassuring voice helping a customer through the challenges of a major property loss, whilst also supporting a colleague to develop their confidence, capability and career. It's an opportunity to make a real difference to both customers and colleagues every day.
Whether working from home or in our bright, collaborative office, you'll be part of a supportive team environment. We offer ongoing development opportunities, support with professional qualifications and the chance to further develop your leadership career within a market-leading organisation.
The skills you will have when you apply:
Leadership experience: Previous experience leading, coaching, mentoring or developing colleagues within a claims environment.
Experience supporting property claims: Strong technical claims experience within a property claims environment, ideally supporting Domestic Major Loss claims and working closely with Loss Adjusters.
Excellent communication skills: You'll confidently engage with team members, policyholders, insurers, contractors and internal stakeholders, adapting your approach to suit your audience.
Strong organisational and prioritisation skills: Able to balance team leadership responsibilities alongside your own operational workload.
Customer-focused approach: Committed to delivering excellent customer outcomes while supporting team success and engagement.
Conscientious and hard-working: Able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, maintaining quality and service standards during periods of high volume.
Flexible and adaptable: Comfortable responding to changing priorities and supporting both team and business needs.
What you'll be doing:
Leading, coaching and developing a team of Adjusting Executives across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Supporting colleague development through regular coaching, feedback and performance conversations.
Monitoring workloads and helping to ensure service levels and quality standards are achieved.
Acting as a point of escalation and support for technical and operational queries.
Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, Loss Adjusters and clients.
Undertaking Adjusting Executive responsibilities to support Loss Adjusters with the management and progression of Domestic Major Loss claims.
Liaising with policyholders, insurers, contractors and suppliers to ensure claims are progressed efficiently and customers are kept informed throughout the process.
Maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company processes and regulatory requirements.
The skills that will be developed once working:
Leadership Development: Further strengthen your people management, coaching and performance leadership skills.
Comprehensive Training: You'll receive all the Sedgwick-specific training needed to thrive in both the leadership and operational aspects of the role.
Professional Development: We are committed to supporting your ongoing career development, including progression towards relevant industry qualifications such as Cert CILA.
