HGV Driver

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Coventry to assist with the appointment of a HGV Driver, on a 2-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £14.32 - £19.69 per hour

Summary:

The HGV Driver role involves operating authorised vehicles across Coventry and surrounding areas, undertaking duties such as waste collection, recycling, highway sweeping and drainage, while maintaining high standards of health and safety and legal compliance.

Responsibilities:

• Operate authorised Class 2 HGV vehicles safely across Coventry and nearby areas.
• Carry out vehicle inspections, routine upkeep and cleaning, and report any defects to Fleet.
• Complete required vehicle and operational documentation, digitally or on paper.
• Undertake waste collection, recycling, highway sweeping, drainage and other assigned operational duties.
• Ensure vehicle maximum weights are not exceeded.
• Monitor drivers' working hours in accordance with domestic driving regulations or onboard tachograph requirements.

Essentials:

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV driving licence.
• Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
• Relevant professional driving experience.
• Occupational Health driving medical assessment must be successfully completed.
• Good knowledge and understanding of relevant road transport legislation.
