Role
10Pearls is seeking an Assistant Vice President – Finance (Pakistan) to lead the finance function for its Pakistan operations. Reporting to the Managing Director and SVP Global Finance, this role will oversee financial operations, taxation, treasury, statutory compliance, regulatory affairs, reporting, and audit functions while serving as the key liaison with global finance leadership.
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Pakistan's tax and regulatory landscape, strong financial leadership experience, and the ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced multinational technology environment.
Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Business Partnership
- Support senior leadership in developing and executing financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Act as the primary finance liaison between Pakistan operations and global finance leadership.
- Identify financial, regulatory, tax, and operational risks and implement mitigation plans.
- Partner closely with HR, Admin, Sales, IT, Marketing, and Delivery teams to support organizational goals.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate management reporting in accordance with group reporting requirements.
- Lead preparation of statutory financial statements under IFRS and Companies Act, 2017 requirements.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial planning.
- Supervise accounts receivable, invoicing, collections, and customer payment escalations.
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and ERP-related financial processes.
- Drive process optimization and automation initiatives within the finance function.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and Provincial tax regulations, including income tax, withholding tax, and sales tax requirements.
- Manage FBR, SRB, PRA, and ICT filings, audits, notices, and assessments.
- Maintain compliance with tax incentives applicable to IT and IT-enabled services exporters.
- Coordinate with tax consultants, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities on compliance matters.
- Monitor regulatory and Finance Act changes and advise leadership on business impact.
- Ensure compliance with SECP regulations and statutory filing requirements.
- Support board governance activities, shareholder matters, and corporate documentation.
- Maintain registrations with PSEB and other relevant authorities.
- Coordinate reporting and compliance activities with SBP, EOBI, SESSI/PESSI, and other regulatory bodies.
- Manage banking relationships and treasury operations.
- Ensure compliance with SBP foreign exchange regulations and export proceeds requirements.
- Monitor cash positions, foreign currency exposure, and financing requirements.
- Oversee dividend remittances and foreign shareholder-related regulatory matters.
- Manage intercompany agreements, pricing arrangements, and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with transfer pricing regulations and documentation requirements.
- Coordinate with group finance and external advisors on transfer pricing matters.
- Review payroll processing, employee taxation, and statutory deductions.
- Ensure compliance with EOBI, social security, provident fund, gratuity, and professional taxes.
- Support workforce planning, budgeting, compensation analysis, and employee cost management.
- Monitor profitability, utilization, margins, and operational performance metrics.
- Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to leadership.
- Support pricing, cost optimization, and business performance initiatives.
- Lead annual statutory audits and manage auditor relationships.
- Support group audit requirements and external stakeholder requests.
- Coordinate tax, regulatory, and compliance audits.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team across multiple functional areas.
- Build succession plans and strengthen team capabilities.
- Drive operational excellence through process standardization and automation.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (ICAP) qualification required.
- 15+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant leadership experience.
- Big 4 or equivalent article ship preferred.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, accounting operations, treasury, taxation, and compliance.
- Deep understanding of IFRS, Companies Act 2017, and Pakistani corporate regulatory requirements.
- Extensive hands-on experience with FBR, SECP, SBP, SRB, PRA, and PSEB regulations.
- Proven experience managing tax audits, notices, assessments, and regulatory inspections.
- Strong knowledge of transfer pricing and intercompany accounting practices.
- Experience in multinational organizations or IT/ITeS export businesses preferred.
- Strong ERP experience; Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial modeling skills.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with global teams and senior leadership across multiple time zones.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
