Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Floor Technician to join our Environmental Services team. This role is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of all flooring surfaces throughout the facility. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, pays attention to detail, and is committed to creating a clean and comfortable environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean, buff, strip, wax, and polish facility floors
- Operate floor care machinery and equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain carpets, tile, vinyl, and other flooring surfaces
- Perform routine floor maintenance according to facility schedules
- Ensure hallways, common areas, and resident spaces are clean and presentable
- Identify and report flooring hazards, maintenance concerns, and safety issues
- Follow all infection control and safety procedures
- Maintain floor care equipment and report repair needs promptly
- Assist with housekeeping and environmental services projects as needed
- Work independently while maintaining quality and productivity standards
- Support a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for residents and staff
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Previous floor care and/or maintenance experience required
- Healthcare or long-term care experience preferred
- Experience operating floor care machinery required
- Knowledge of floor stripping, waxing, buffing, and refinishing techniques preferred
