Description

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

Ford Energy is a newly formed, wholly-owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company dedicated to accelerating U.S. energy independence. Leveraging Ford’s century of manufacturing excellence and world-class battery energy storage systems (BESS) technology, Ford Energy designs, manufactures, and services grid-scale and commercial DC battery energy storage systems (BESS). Ford Energy is uniquely positioned to capture the growing demand for reliable, US-built energy storage systems. We are not just building batteries; we are building the infrastructure for the next generation of the American grid.

Why Ford Energy?

At Ford Energy, you have the backing of an industrial manufacturing powerhouse with the agility of a dedicated energy startup offering industry leading technology. We offer a competitive compensation package including performance-based bonuses, Ford vehicle discounts, and the opportunity to shape the energy strategy of one of the world's most iconic brands.

In this position...

As the PC/MC Team Manager, you will play a pivotal role in launching our brand-new, state-of-the-art Battery Energy Systems facility. You will serve as the strategic architect of our logistics footprint—designing advanced material flows, setting up world-class warehouse operations, and building a high-performing supply chain team from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-impact launch, implement cutting-edge ERP systems, and establish the operational foundation that powers the future of electrification.

What you'll do...

  • Team Building & Talent Development: Recruit, onboard, and develop a diverse, high-performing Production Control and Material Control (PC/MC) team from the ground up, establishing a collaborative and accountable culture within the new facility.
  • Strategic Operational Leadership: Guide and mentor the team in architecting the logistics footprint, including the design of advanced material flows and the setup of world-class warehouse operations.
  • Systems Adoption & Enablement: Empower and oversee the team during the implementation of cutting-edge ERP/MRP systems, ensuring comprehensive training, testing, and operational readiness for the launch.
  • Performance & Foundation Setting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational standards, driving the team to successfully meet launch milestones and build a sustainable supply chain foundation.
  • Plant Launch & Team Leadership: Lead MP&L launch activities for the Battery Energy Systems facility, including establishing the local logistics organizational structure, defining operational processes, and hiring the plant team.
  • Material Control & Production Scheduling: Oversee inventory planning, production control, capacity management, inventory compliance, and constraint resolution to ensure seamless and efficient daily plant operations.
  • Material Flow & Warehouse Design: Optimize advanced material flow planning, warehouse management system (WMS) operations, and overall plant material handling layouts to maximize efficiency.
  • Logistics & Customs Compliance: Manage inbound and outbound logistics networks, import/export operations, customs compliance, and tariff/duty management to guarantee regulatory adherence.
  • ERP/MRP Systems Implementation: Drive ERP/MRP system process mapping, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and lead the end-to-end systems launch for the facility.
  • Quality & Standard Compliance: Maintain supply chain excellence by ensuring operational alignment with global industry standards, utilizing AIAG MMOG/LE guidelines and Ford Q1 (or equivalent) supplier quality frameworks

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5 or more years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing material planning, production scheduling, supply chain, and logistics
  • Systems Expertise: At least 2 years of hands-on experience with ERP and MRP systems, including direct, hands-on experience with SAP (required).
  • Approximately 50% travel required through October 2027 during the industrialization/standup phase (95% domestic, primarily Michigan/Kentucky) and 5% international travel. Post-October 2027, role transitions to steady-state with very limited travel, primarily on an as-required basis.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 8-12+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing material planning, production scheduling, supply chain, and logistics.
  • Battery manufacturing experience a plus
  • AIAG MMOG/LE standards experience
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Greenfield site development or high-volume automotive, battery, or electronics manufacturing.
  • Industry Standards: Deep understanding of material flow principles and automotive logistics guidelines (e.g., AIAG MMOG/LE) or equivalent manufacturing quality frameworks.
  • Adaptability & Launch Readiness: Proven capability to operate effectively in fast-paced plant launch environments, greenfield developments, or high-volume automotive/electronics manufacturing sites.
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt).
  • Excellent communication and leadership experience
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
  • Validated functional expertise in material flow
