About Capital Partners 

One of the three primary drivers of revenue for RenaissanceRe, Capital Partners is an industry-leading manager of insurance-linked securities (ILS) capital, serving the needs of large institutional investors through superior risk selection and portfolio construction. For the past twenty-five years, our unique hybrid model of owned and managed capital has provided broad access to risk, specialized reinsurance underwriting, and strong governance, ensuring our interests are aligned with those of our investors. The Capital Partners team, approximately 20-25 professionals supported by a robust team of functional partners, constructs private ILS transactions for global institutional investors via third-party capital vehicles, joint ventures, and catastrophe bond trading. We manage these investments through regulated entities including an exempt reporting adviser with the SEC and a [licensed] entity under the Bermuda Monetary Authority. RenaissanceRe is a NYSE-listed, SOX-compliant public company. Our ability to provide innovative solutions in this dynamic global business environment requires adept handling of complex compliance matters. As of December 2025, we are stewards of approximately a billion in assets under management in our Capital Partners platform.

About the Position 

Reporting directly to the SVP, Deputy Chief Compliance Officer, the AVP, Compliance Manager will lead the design and daily responsibilities of the compliance program for Capital Partners, managing a range of legal, regulatory and compliance risks associated with third-party capital management in a SOX environment. The successful candidate will work closely with leaders within Capital Partners on both the business and functional sides to ensure appropriate structure, governance, and regulatory compliance of multiple adviser entities created to facilitate the ILS transactions.

Although the role is primarily focused on Capital Partners, the Compliance Manager will also work across the global compliance & legal teams supporting RenaissanceRe’s various global compliance operations. The ability to drive collaboration and pro-actively communicate across multiple internal and external stakeholder groups, both functionally within Legal, Compliance & Risk, and with the business, will be key to success. This role presents the opportunity to engage deeply with a specific business line as well as develop broadly across multiple areas of compliance. The Compliance Manager  role will be based in our midtown New York office or our Stamford, Office and will be expected to travel occasionally.

  • Key Stakeholders & Partners: Capital Partners business and functional teams, especially Legal, Risk, Portfolio Management and Finance; Global Compliance team

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and update compliance policies and procedures related to Capital Partners activities, primarily to achieve compliance with applicable exempt reporting advisers and Bermuda investment business requirements.
  • Review, maintain, and update various compliance and regulatory filings relevant to exempt reporting advisers and a licensed asset manager, as required by applicable global regulators, including but not limited to the SEC, the Bermuda Monetary Authority, and the National Futures Association.
  • Lead compliance-related responses to regulatory inquiries as needed.
  • Maintain and update controls designed to achieve compliance with various Capital Partners securities offering documents, corporate governance practices, and institutional investor arrangements, as determined by the Legal team of Capital Partners.
  • Develop as necessary and monitor on-going relevant global legal and regulatory requirements associated with marketing and distribution activities.
  • Monitor new legal and regulatory developments, assess applicable risk, continually enhance the responsive control environment for both the Capital Partners team and other assigned compliance-related risks.
  • Design risk-based testing of applicable policies and procedures; conduct regular risk assessments, and recommend risk mitigation techniques and controls as needed.
  • Attend meetings and respond to questions related to operational due diligence processes from existing and prospective investors.
  • Lead employee training for the compliance program specific to Capital Partners as well as for the broader RenaissanceRe Group as needed.
  • Maintain the required compliance and corporate records.
  • Collaborate with different functions within RenaissanceRe to ensure consistency in policies and procedures.
  • Effectively integrate into globally distributed teams Capital Partners team and other relevant Renaissance Re Group functions.

Candidate Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a compliance function for an SEC-registered investment adviser or exempt reporting adviser and/or [licensed / registered] Bermuda investment business.
  • Meaningful work experience in the U.S. and/or Bermuda asset management industry and securities markets and familiarity with securities laws that relate to investment advisers, including the Investment Advisers Act, Bermuda Investment Business Act, Investment Company Act, Securities Act, and Commodity Exchange Act.
  • Experience in the (re)insurance industry and/or with insurance-linked securities products is advantageous.
  • Growth mindset and business acumen essential.
  • Meaningful experience analyzing compliance and business risk and recommending and implementing pragmatic solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a collaborative and geographically dispersed business environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Undergraduate degree expected; professional or advanced degree advantageous.

The full-time base salary range for this position is $140,000-$160,000 per year; base salary offered may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
