The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn for over 40 years. We are looking for a Credentialing & HR Assistant to assist and facilitate all aspects of human resources and credentialing functions.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Support the HR Director and HR & Credentialing Manager with daily HR operations and administrative functions.
  • Assist with recruitment, staffing, onboarding, training, performance evaluation tracking, and employee documentation.
  • Process onboarding documentation for newly hired employees and provide orientation on HR policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, and related matters, referring complex issues to management as appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records in both electronic and physical formats.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and applicable employment regulations.

Credentialing

  • Provide support for provider credentialing and re-credentialing activities.
  • Maintain accurate credentialing records and tracking systems.
  • Assist with provider enrollment and payer credentialing processes.
  • Monitor credentialing deadlines and follow up on outstanding documentation.
  • Serve as backup support for credentialing operations as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive provider and employee information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with healthcare provider credentialing and payer enrollment.
  • Experience with provider network management.
  • Knowledge of credentialing standards and accreditation requirements, including The Joint Commission (TJC) and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
  • Experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and collaboratively while managing competing priorities and deadlines.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of credentialing experience in behavioral health across multiple states.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple credentialing and HR workflows while meeting deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Receptive to feedback and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and solution-focused with a positive attitude.

Education and Experience

  • Associate degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 1 year of related HR, credentialing, healthcare administration, or provider enrollment experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, email, and other professional channels.
  • Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of and commitment to compliance with complex healthcare and employment regulations.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take initiative and contribute wherever needed.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, "can-do" attitude.

Hourly: $20 and based on experience
