The Forensic Valuation and Litigation Support (FVLS) Associate will support family law and commercial litigation matters, including business valuation, forensic accounting, economic damages, lost profits, wrongful termination, infringement damages, and financial analysis in divorce and marital disputes. The role involves assisting in the valuation of marital assets, income determination, economic damages assessments, and expert witness support.
Working under the guidance of senior professionals, the Associate will contribute to financial modeling, forensic investigations, and case documentation related to spousal support, child support, asset tracing, and business ownership disputes. This role provides exposure to family law litigation and opportunities for professional development and mentorship.


Responsibilities
• Assist in the analysis of financial data related to family law cases, including business valuation, asset tracing, and income assessments.
• Support the preparation of financial models, reports, and documentation for use in various calculations.
• Conduct research on industry trends, economic conditions, and valuation methodologies specific to family law cases.
• Assist in reviewing tax returns, bank statements, financial disclosures, and business ownership records.
• Support attorneys and senior consultants in preparing expert witness reports and court presentations.
• Maintain and organize financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial disclosure requirements.
• Work closely with attorneys, forensic accountants, and litigation teams to support case strategy.
• Adhere to strict client confidentiality and professional standards.
• Other duties as assigned.


Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience (internship or coursework in forensic accounting, litigation support, or family law litigation is a plus).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple projects.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex financial concepts both verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; experience with data analysis tools is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to pursue professional certifications such as CPA, CFF, ABV, ASA, or CVA in the future.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee will work under typical office conditions, with the noise level being usually quiet to moderate. Occasional exposure to outside environment when traveling to and from a client’s office; off-site locations for meetings/training/events or other outside locations as requested.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work
Full-time / 40 hours per week, with some overtime as required.
Travel
Occasional day travel and some overnight travel (2-3 times/year).
