Description
Senior Leasing Consultant – Multifamily
Location: Bear, DE Area | Full-Time | On-Site
Build Your Career With a Growing Multifamily Team
A well-established Delaware-based multifamily operator is seeking an experienced Senior Leasing Consultant to join its growing team and support two nearby apartment communities in the Bear, DE area. With new inventory coming online and an active lease-up environment, this is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned multifamily leasing professional who knows how to build relationships, generate traffic, conduct compelling apartment tours, and convert prospects into leases.
This is a true, hands-on multifamily leasing position—not a stepping-stone role for someone looking to move immediately into management. The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of direct apartment leasing experience, with lease-up experience strongly preferred. Luxury or Class A experience is a plus, but we're more interested in proven multifamily leasing expertise, strong follow-through, and a track record of results.
You'll work across two conveniently located communities, both close to the company's corporate office, and will have access to company vehicles for prospect tours.
The company has a strong history of promoting from within, so while this role is designed for someone who is comfortable remaining focused on leasing for the next several years, there is potential for future advancement into a Leasing Operations Manager role as the organization continues to grow.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Leasing Consultant, you'll be a key member of the leasing team and an important part of the resident experience from the very first inquiry through move-in.
- Drive Leasing Results: Respond to leads, identify prospect needs, overcome objections, and convert qualified prospects into new leases.
- Conduct Engaging Apartment Tours: Showcase available apartments, amenities, community features, and lifestyle benefits while tailoring each tour to the prospect.
- Manage the Full Leasing Process: Guide prospects through applications, screening, approvals, lease execution, and move-in preparation.
- Support Lease-Up Activity: Help drive occupancy and leasing velocity as new inventory comes online.
- Follow Up Relentlessly: Maintain consistent communication with prospects through phone, email, and other CRM channels to maximize conversion opportunities.
- Build Relationships: Create a welcoming, professional experience for prospective and current residents while building trust throughout the leasing process.
- Maintain Accurate Records: Document leads, prospect activity, tours, follow-ups, applications, and leases in the property's CRM/PMS.
- Monitor the Market: Stay informed on rental rates, competitor properties, availability, concessions, and market trends.
- Support Property Marketing: Help ensure available apartments are presented accurately and attractively across leasing and marketing channels.
- Represent the Community: Serve as a knowledgeable and enthusiastic ambassador for the properties and the company.
- Travel Between Communities: Work across two nearby properties and operate company vehicles to conduct prospect tours when needed.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for a seasoned multifamily leasing professional who understands apartment leasing from the inside out.
Required:
- 5+ years of direct multifamily apartment leasing experience
- Proven experience leasing conventional, market-rate multifamily housing
- Strong understanding of the apartment leasing cycle, from lead generation through lease execution and move-in
- Excellent prospect follow-up and closing skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Professional, polished, and customer-focused approach
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating with the broader property management team
- Proficiency with property management software and CRM systems; Yardi experience is a plus
- Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles for property tours
- Ability to work a fully on-site schedule, including weekends and holidays as required by the leasing schedule
Strongly Preferred:
- Lease-up experience
- Luxury or Class A multifamily experience
- Experience working across multiple apartment communities
- Proven success meeting or exceeding leasing and occupancy goals
This Role Is a Great Fit If You...
- Have built your career in multifamily leasing and want to continue doing what you do best.
- Know the difference between simply showing an apartment and actually selling the lifestyle and closing the lease.
- Enjoy working with prospects from initial inquiry through move-in.
- Are comfortable in a fast-paced leasing environment where follow-up and attention to detail matter.
- Want to join a company that is actively growing and adding new inventory.
- Appreciate the stability of a company that promotes from within and offers long-term career opportunities.
Why Join?
You'll be joining an established multifamily operator with a substantial conventional portfolio, a growing pipeline of new inventory, and a demonstrated commitment to developing its people.
This is an opportunity to plant roots, make an impact, and become a key leasing resource across two communities—while building toward potential future advancement as the organization continues to grow.
If you're an experienced multifamily leasing professional who knows how to connect with prospects, create an exceptional leasing experience, and close the deal, we'd love to hear from you.
