Position Identification

Job Title: TB Fleet Account Manager
Job Function: Sales
Reports To: Director, TB Corporate Sales

Job Purpose

The Fleet Account Manager is responsible for developing new business and driving long-term growth with regional and national strategic accounts. This position primarily focuses on medium to large trucking fleets, while also supporting select truck stops, national buying groups, commercial bolt-on dealers, wholesale distributors with multi-region footprints, and select OEM accounts. The Fleet Account Manager will develop new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers to achieve sales and profitability objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow business with assigned key accounts throughout the U.S. through sales programs, RFP responses, contracts, and promotional initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for assigned accounts, ensuring operational needs are documented, tracked, and resolved effectively, including inventory supply, demand planning, forecasting, reporting, billing accuracy, and payment resolution.
  • Partner with Commercial Tire Managers and Regional Directors to establish and execute growth strategies for assigned key customers.
  • Represent and communicate the Hankook Tire brand and product portfolio through customer meetings, new product introductions and training, customer events, sales promotions, and trade shows.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by researching prospects, analyzing market positions, and evaluating potential for growth.
  • Develop multi-level customer relationships by identifying customer needs and opportunities and providing solutions that support business objectives, profitability, and operational improvements.
  • Serve as a business consultant to customers by providing market information, guidance, research, best practices, and recommendations for improving sales and profitability.
  • Monitor industry trends, market activity, competitive developments, and customer needs to identify opportunities for product improvements and new product development.
  • Collect, analyze, and summarize competitive and market information to support business decisions and prepare relevant reports.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service by following established company standards and proactively addressing customer needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sales activities and customer interactions within the CRM system.
  • Achieve established sales, growth, and profitability objectives for assigned accounts.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Level of Accountability

Responsible for managing assigned accounts headquartered in the Eastern U.S., including regional and national accounts with locations that may extend across multiple sales regions. Accountable for developing customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and driving commercial business results for assigned accounts.

Core Competencies

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, and PowerPoint; experience with CRM systems required. Working knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Strong aftermarket sales and account management experience, including customer presentations, relationship management, contract negotiation, prospecting, and achievement of sales goals.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to understand customer operations, identify opportunities, and develop solutions that support customer and company profitability.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly creative, energetic, and self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to respond to customer needs quickly and comprehensively.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-growing organization with multiple initiatives occurring simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to research market trends and translate information into actionable business opportunities.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships at multiple levels within customer organizations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of sales experience.
  • Prior experience as an Account Manager, Territory Manager, Fleet Account Manager, or equivalent sales/account management role.
  • Experience in aftermarket sales is preferred.
  • Experience with a tire manufacturer and/or selling to commercial trucking fleets is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing large fleets, truck stop accounts, large dealers/distributors, or other strategic commercial accounts is preferred.
  • Experience managing regional or national accounts with multiple locations is preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely while maintaining a high level of communication, organization, and customer engagement.
  • Candidate should reside within the Eastern U.S. with reasonable access to a major airport.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50–75%, including overnight travel, is required.
  • Must be comfortable in a highly customer-facing role requiring frequent travel and the development of strong, long-term business relationships.
