Location: Feltham

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm

 

About the Role

We are recruiting for a Gateway Coordinator to join a busy freight forwarding operation in Feltham.

You will be part of the Gateway team, coordinating consignments arriving and departing through the gateway and making sure shipments are handled accurately and within the required timeframes.

The role would suit someone with previous experience in freight forwarding, logistics, air freight or a similar fast-paced environment. Experience with consolidations and gateway operations would be an advantage.

 

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate vehicles collecting and delivering consignments from airlines
• Manage the flow of consignments arriving and departing through the gateway
• Complete customs reports when required
• Raise records in the ETSF and discharge T1s from overnight DDX deliveries
• Make sure shipment information is accurately recorded and uploaded onto internal systems
• Complete daily work in line with agreed procedures and deadlines
• Keep invoicing, job costing and shipment milestones updated within the required timeframes
• Deal with queries from customers and suppliers and help resolve any issues
• Maintain regular contact with customers and suppliers
• Work closely with internal and external customers
• Carry out internal and external rate reviews
• Follow company procedures, KPIs and time-sensitive processes
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, safety and security throughout the movement of consignments
• Use Microsoft Office and internal systems as required
• Support the wider team with other duties when needed

 

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working within freight forwarding
• Good understanding of import and export procedures
• Knowledge of freight industry security processes
• Understanding of DfT, CAA, HMRC and IATA regulations
• Good IT skills, including Excel and Word
• Experience with air freight or airline transport would be an advantage
• Experience working with consolidations would be beneficial
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Organised and methodical approach to work
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Able to manage your own workload and work well as part of a team
• Professional and customer-focused approach
