As IT Area Lead, you will define and drive the Tribe's technology strategy, leading the delivery of technology solutions that support business success while embedding ING's One Way of Working and engineering culture.
Reporting to the Head of Technology Retail, you will partner with Tribe Leads, Architecture, and Business stakeholders to deliver a portfolio of strategic initiatives, lead technology professionals and delivery partners, and ensure the security, stability, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement of the Tribe's technology assets and applications.

What you’ll do …
Lead end-to-end delivery across the Tribe, ensuring technology changes are executed efficiently, successfully, and delivers measurable business value.
Partner with Tribe Leadership to define and execute a technology strategy that supports ING's objectives and accelerates innovation.
Build and inspire high-performing engineering teams, fostering a strong culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous development.
Drive Agile and continuous delivery practices to improve speed, quality, predictability, and customer outcomes.
Ensure all technology solutions are secure, resilient, and aligned with enterprise architecture and engineering standards.
Own the health, stability, risk, security, and lifecycle management of the Tribe's technology assets and applications.
What we’re looking for….
Proven technology leadership with experience leading large engineering and delivery teams within banking or financial services environments.
Strong expertise in modern technology delivery, including Agile, DevOps, cloud technologies, application migration, and enterprise-scale platforms such as J2EE and .NET.
Demonstrated ability to define and execute technology strategy, aligning business objectives, architecture direction, risk frameworks, and operational excellence.
Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience influencing and engaging senior executives, including C-suite leaders.
Track record of building high-performing engineering teams, developing capability, driving engineering culture, and managing strategic vendor partnerships and large-scale delivery portfolios.
