Description
The RN Diabetes Educator within Franciscan Health is responsible for instruction of patients in diabetes self-management, facilitating patient education programs, and developing patient teaching tools. This position accomplishes this by assessing, planning, and implementing educational programs, and ensuring practices are aligned with the Franciscan Alliance values.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
- Develop, coordinate, maintain, evaluate, and improve components of the orientation process using evidenced-based practice.
- Facilitate the communication process between management, staff, ancillary departments, and professional contacts across the Franciscan Alliance.
- Serve as a leader in promoting the professional growth of peers.
- Support staff development with educational activities, including remediation, certification, mentoring, regulatory requirements, new equipment/procedures, and EMR updates.
- Assess staff training or education needs by collecting data and feedback.
Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's Degree Nursing / Patient Care
- Preferred Master's Degree Nursing / Patient Care
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) - National Certification of Diabetic Educators hire in the position (1 year) certification required
