FG Gold Limited has been awarded the Baomahun Gold concession project located in Valunia Chiefdom, Bo District, and is currently in the development phase. To support this project development, FG Gold Limited is seeking a qualified individual to fill the vacant position of Metallurgy Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Metallurgy Superintendent is responsible for leading all metallurgical operations, testwork and process optimisation for the fixed processing plant during the construction, commissioning, start-up and operational phases of the Greenfield gold mining project.

The role ensures metallurgical performance is optimised to maximise gold recovery within cost and quality parameters, and that accurate metallurgical accounting and reconciliation systems are maintained.

The incumbent will establish metallurgical operating philosophies, reagent regimes and process control strategies, and drive continuous improvement using industry best practice.

The position plays a critical role in ensuring operational readiness by developing metallurgical systems prior to plant commissioning while supporting the transition into a high-performing gold processing operation.

• Monitor and optimise metallurgical performance including grind size, recovery and reagent consumption across crushing, grinding, gravity, flotation, CIL/CIP, elution, carbon regeneration and tailings circuits; conduct plant surveys and metallurgical balances to identify process improvement opportunities; manage the laboratory testing programme including assay quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC); identify and implement metallurgical process improvements in conjunction with Operations.
• Review metallurgical operating philosophies and process design criteria prior to commissioning; participate in commissioning, ramp-up and vendor acceptance testing activities; develop metallurgical accounting and reconciliation systems ahead of first production; develop plant control strategies and process set points for new plant equipment.
• Manage gold-in-process reconciliation and mine-to-mill/plant reconciliation processes; prepare monthly metal accounting and metallurgical performance reports; oversee assay laboratory QA/QC to ensure data integrity.
• Manage the reagent optimisation programme to reduce consumption without compromising recovery; review chemical and reagent suppliers and monitor consumption trends; coordinate with Supply Chain on reagent procurement and inventory levels.
• Conduct metallurgical testwork trials to support process optimisation; support capital project evaluations from a metallurgical perspective; liaise with Operations and Maintenance on process improvement initiatives; support research and development projects related to metallurgical performance.
• Promote Zero Harm principles across all metallurgical and laboratory activities; ensure metallurgical practices comply with statutory safety requirements and environmental regulations; participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA) development, Permit to Work processes, safety inspections and risk assessments; support incident investigations where required; develop effective working relationships with Processing Operations, Maintenance, Laboratory, Geology, Supply Chain, Planning Team and the HSE Department.

QUALIFICATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Educational Background:

Holds a Bachelor's Degree in in Metallurgy, Extractive Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification in Metallurgy or Mineral Processing is desirable.

Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years' metallurgical experience in gold processing, including at least 3 years in a superintendent or senior metallurgist role.
• Experience with CIL/CIP, flotation and gravity circuits.
• Previous experience in a Greenfield mining project or commissioning environment (desirable).
• Demonstrated experience in metallurgical accounting and reconciliation.

Physical Requirements:

• Site-based Greenfield mining project; remote mine location.
• Roster-based employment.
• Exposure to construction, commissioning and operational environments.
• Occasional work outside normal business hours during shutdowns, commissioning and critical activities.
• Frequent interaction with operational and project teams.
