Description
Conductor Quantum is building quantum superintelligence.
Quantum superintelligence is an AI that uses quantum computers to surpass the capabilities of humanity's greatest minds. We are closer to that inflection point than most people realize. Frontier models are approaching general intelligence, and AI can already generate quantum circuits faster than humans can write them. The question is no longer whether quantum and AI converge; it is who builds the infrastructure to make that convergence reliable, scalable, and useful.
That infrastructure starts with the hardware. The biggest bottleneck in quantum computing today is not qubit count; it is the manual configuration that keeps those qubits from being usable. Our software automates calibration and operations across qubit types, turning raw cryogenic hardware into a stable, ready-to-run platform accessible through a simple chat interface. By solving that bottleneck, we are enabling thousands, and one day billions, of qubits to operate reliably at scale.
The result is a quantum computer as easy to use as ChatGPT. The first billion users are coming. The majority, we believe, will be AI agents.
Why now
Today, AI generates production code faster and with fewer errors than most of the world's software engineers. AI is already generating quantum circuits. It just needs reliable hardware to run them on, well-calibrated qubits to use, and a feedback loop tight enough to discover new algorithms without human input.
The world's most capable AI models are being pointed at B2B SaaS. We are pointing ours at the frontier of science.
Role overview
Conductor Quantum is establishing operations in Albuquerque. New Mexico has two national laboratories, a fast-growing quantum ecosystem, and the operators and researchers our platform serves. You will be our first hire in the state.
This role runs the site. You will keep the founders' time pointed at the hardest problems. You will handle everything else: the office, the lab logistics, the vendors, the paperwork, and the visitors. One week you might set up an engineering workspace. The next you might coordinate a customer visit, a compliance filing, and three interview loops at once.
This is a high-ownership role for someone who treats operations as a craft. You will define how Conductor runs in New Mexico and help lay the foundation for the company's culture and growth.
Key responsibilities
Executive support
Own the founders' calendars, travel, and priorities. Prepare agendas, materials, and background for meetings with customers, partners, and investors. Track action items and commitments, and chase them to completion. Guard the time that matters.
Lab and office operations
Run the Albuquerque office and engineering workspace day to day. Receive, track, and organize equipment deliveries, from GPU workstations to lab benches. Keep the space stocked, safe, and ready for the work. Coordinate access, utilities, and facilities so the engineers never have to.
Procurement and vendor management
Own purchasing workflows from quote to delivery. Manage supplier relationships, order tracking, and logistics. Handle NDAs, contracts, vendor paperwork, and onboarding documents. Find the better price, the faster shipment, and the vendor who picks up the phone.
Compliance and reporting
Own the administrative backbone of the New Mexico operation. Gather documentation, track deadlines, and prepare submissions. Keep state registrations and filings current. Maintain records so clean that an audit would be boring.
Recruiting and people coordination
Run interview scheduling and candidate logistics for New Mexico hiring. Coordinate onboarding so new team members contribute from day one. Support visits from customers, partners, and the local quantum community. Represent Conductor at ecosystem events across the state.
First 30 / 60 / 90 days
30 days
- Take over the founders' calendars and travel.
- Map every vendor, deadline, filing, and report the New Mexico operation depends on.
- Get the office running: deliveries arrive, equipment is tracked, and the space works.
60 days
- Own procurement end to end, from quote to installed equipment.
- Build the systems the site runs on: purchasing, filing, reporting, and travel.
- Prepare your first operational report with the founders.
90 days
- Run the Albuquerque site without a founder in the room.
- Own recruiting coordination for the next New Mexico hires.
- Shape how Conductor operates as it scales, in New Mexico and beyond.
The team
We are a small, passionate founding team of quantum physicists, hardware engineers, and machine learning experts. Our founders, Brandon and Joel, met at Oxford during their PhDs working on AI for quantum computing. There they saw first-hand that calibration and control is a core bottleneck to scaling quantum computers.
This is your opportunity to do the best work of your life as part of that founding team.
Who we are looking for
High intelligence, high energy, and high integrity. You have kept an executive, a lab, or an operation running before, and made it look easy. Obsessive about clean calendars and cleaner lab benches. Discreet with sensitive information. Relish the chaos of a startup finding its feet in a new state. People who are hungry to change the world and do not need to be told what to do next.
Perks
Free healthcare, dental, and vision
Work on the most important technical problem of our generation
