Position Title
Position Summary / Career Interest:
Responsible for the delivery of professional nursing services, which will address the physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, developmental, and age-appropriate needs of each individual patient/family. Accountable for development and implementation of Lactation Program and teaching breastfeeding basics to staff on the OB unit. Accountable for the coordination of breast pump rental program.Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
- Prepares, organizes, directs, conducts and supervises orientation for the Obstetrical nursing areas
- Develops, coordinates, and conducts educational programs
- Conducts needs assessment for Obstetrical staff
- Assists with basic life support courses
- Evaluates progress of new orientees during clinical orientation process
- Promotes the principles of mission/vision of Liberty Hospital
- Must be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.

Required Education and Experience
Recent clinical experience in maternal child care.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor Degree Nursing
- 3 or more years Clinical experience in maternal/child care setting.
- 2 or more years Experience as IBCLC.
- 2 or more years Teaching experience in maternal/child setting.
- Experience with outpatient follow-up.
Required Licensure and Certification
- Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Single State - State Board of Nursing with eligibility to work in the state of MO.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant - International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) or CLC required within 90-days of hire or internal transfer effective 4/13/2023.
Preferred Licensure and Certification
- Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN) - National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
- Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) - National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
- Low-Risk Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing (RNC-LRN) - National Certification Corporation for the Obstetric, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties (NCC)
- Nursing Continuing Education/Staff Development (RN,C)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
