Medical Administration Specialist (PEBLO)
Location: Missouri Army National Guard in Jefferson City, Mo.Citizenship Requirement: U.S. CitizenSchedule: Monday–Friday | 8‑hour shifts between 0700–1900
Position Summary
The Medical Administration Specialist (PEBLO) provides administrative and clerical support to the Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO), Medical Evaluation Board (MEB), and Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) at a military treatment facility. This role supports service members throughout the disability evaluation process while providing general administrative support to outpatient medical and dental clinics.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to MEB and PEBLO staff
- Assist with Temporary and Permanent Disability Evaluation Board (TDEB/PDEB) processes
- Support Limited Duty (LIMDU) boards as required
- Provide guidance to active‑duty service members, clinic staff, and commands regarding disability and administrative processes
- Schedule, reschedule, and coordinate medical, specialty, subspecialty, and referral appointments
- Utilize government systems including CHCS, MHS GENESIS, and DENTRIX
- Contact patients regarding appointment coordination and changes
- Serve as a medical records technician for inpatient, outpatient, and ambulatory records
- Maintain, retrieve, file, and compile medical documentation in compliance with regulatory and facility standards
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- 2+ years of experience in a medical office, health insurance, or managed care organization
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical administrative processes; military healthcare experience preferred
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if applicable
