Your Recipe for Impact — What You’ll Do
As a Treasury Associate, you'll play an important role in supporting the financial operations that keep Whataburger running smoothly. By reconciling transactions, investigating discrepancies, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data, you'll help protect the integrity of our business and support informed decision-making. In this role, you'll Make a Difference through accurate financial reporting and transaction management, Serve with Heart by providing responsive support to internal partners, Win as One through collaboration across teams to resolve issues and drive results, and Move Forward Boldly by identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and controls.
Day-to-Day Ingredients — Responsibilities
As a Treasury Associate, you will:
- Reconcile daily financial transactions across multiple systems.
- Analyze transaction and reconciliation reports.
- Investigate and resolve transaction discrepancies.
- Partner with internal teams to resolve financial issues.
- Support e-commerce, merchant, and franchise transactions.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation.
- Monitor transaction activity and cash flow movements.
- Assist with reconciliation and reporting improvements.
- Support audit and compliance requirements.

What You Bring to the Table — Required Experience
As a Treasury Associate, you must have:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ year of treasury, accounting, finance, or related experience.
- Knowledge of financial reconciliations and transaction processing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Strong organization and time management abilities.
Extra Toppings — Desired Experience
As a Treasury Associate, we prefer you to have:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with treasury, banking, or payment systems.
- Experience supporting e-commerce or merchant transactions.
- Understanding of accounting principles and controls.
- Data analysis and reporting experience.
- Experience identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Experience working with large-volume financial transactions.
Where & How You’ll Work
This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on‑site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you’ll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast‑paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full‑time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
