Position Overview:
The BPL Appraisal Reviewer is responsible for ensuring all reports, including escalations and complex valuations, meet regulatory, investor, and internal policy standards. This role serves as a liaison to vendors and appraisers to address revisions, resolve valuation discrepancies, and deliver credible, well-supported value recommendations in a timely manner. The BPL Appraisal Reviewer demonstrates consistent professionalism through clear communication with clients and internal teams, adaptability in dynamic environments, and a commitment to continuous process improvement.
Job Responsibilities:
Review and analyze appraisal reports to confirm appraised value aligns with appropriate appraisal methodology and that a reconciliation of multiple approaches is completed appropriately.
Collaborate efficiently with BPL Appraisal Review team members when additional appraisal expertise and/or review is needed; run analyses regarding comparable selection and/or internal valuations.
Confirm compliance of vendors and appraisal reports to ensure reports are in alignment with Valere’s policies, USPAP standards, and applicable laws and regulations.
Identify collateral issues and collaborate with leadership to ensure timely receipt of revised appraisal reports.
Effectively communicate status of files with customers and internal partners while demonstrating a positive attitude and excellent customer service in a professional environment
Quickly adjust to changing information, shifting conditions and unexpected obstacles.
Collaborate with the other BPL Appraisal Review team members to maintain processes and standard operating procedures, while providing enhancement recommendations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field.
3+ years of experience regarding appraisal review, appraisal processing and quality control.
Experience with meeting deadlines, planning and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
Extensive knowledge of all related appraisal and industry guidelines.
Knowledge of appraisal techniques involving different property types, preferred. (e.g., multi-unit properties)
Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues.
Prioritizes clear, respectful communication and consistently meets deadlines to ensure operational efficiency and client satisfaction.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills to meet deadlines, plan and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in computer skills including use of the Internet and Microsoft office programs. (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
