Driver Recruiter

We are looking for a Driver Recruiter to identify, engage, and hire qualified professional drivers who will help keep our operations moving. In this role, you'll manage the recruiting process from candidate review through conditional job offer while working closely with hiring managers, Driver Operations, and the Human Resources team to provide an exceptional hiring and onboarding experience.

What you'll do
- Manage the recruiting process for assigned hiring areas from initial candidate engagement through hiring
- Review applications and evaluate candidates for open driver positions
- Schedule and conduct interviews in accordance with company policies and applicable employment laws
- Extend conditional job offers to qualified candidates using sound judgment and established hiring standards
- Monitor candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure a smooth and timely onboarding experience
- Audit hiring activity to ensure compliance with company policies and DOT requirements
- Educate prospective drivers about career opportunities, company operations, pay, benefits, and the hiring process
- Build and maintain relationships with prospective drivers throughout the recruiting process
- Partner with hiring managers and Driver Operations to meet hiring goals and support staffing needs
- Attend recruiting events, job fairs, and other hiring activities to attract qualified candidates
- Stay current on DOT and FMCSA regulations, recruiting best practices, and industry trends
- Perform other duties as assigned
What you'll bring
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year of high-volume recruiting or staffing experience required
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to build rapport, influence decisions, and effectively engage candidates throughout the hiring process
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Customer-focused mindset with strong follow-through
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Preferred qualifications
- Experience recruiting CDL drivers
- Transportation, trucking, or tanker industry experience
- Knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
- Experience with Tenstreet, Workday, and Smartsheet
Work environment and physical requirements
This is an on-site position based at a Groendyke terminal location. The role involves primarily computer and telephone work, extended periods of sitting, occasional walking, and frequent communication with candidates, hiring managers, Driver Operations, and other business partners. Occasional travel to recruiting events, company meetings, or other company locations may be required.
