Job Summary

The Annual Giving Manager – Eagles Club pursues and cultivates the annual giving development cycle for FGCU Athletics. This includes unrestricted and sport specific contributions with a focus on $1,000 - $25,000 gifts. The position also oversees digital communications with the Eagles Club donors strengthening connections to our athletic programs and student-athletes. This position collaborates across University departments ensuring a premier donor experience.

Job Description

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Recommends, plans, and implements innovative strategies for sustainable athletic annual giving growth and retention.
  • Organizes specific athletic annual giving campaigns in coordination with University Leadership & Annual Giving team including print and digital components. Forecasts goals and updates others on progress toward goals.
  • Serves as the primary athletic department contact for FGCU Give Day, working with appropriate department staff to determine goals and encourage participation across all areas of athletics
  • Documents donor interactions with the Raiser’s Edge database to ensure continuity of the donor relationship
  • Manages the development and execution of Eagles Club monthly digital newsletter in coordination with Assistant Athletics Director, Eagles Club
  • Assists with the development and coordination of special events and programs for donors and prospects.
  • Collaborates with Ticketing staff to ensure successful season ticket renewal process and associated Eagles Club donations.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • This position requires either six years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
  • Professional full-time experience with Advancement, fundraising, or other relevant experience.
  • Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook).
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field.
  • Fundraising experience in a higher education setting.
  • Experience in athletic fundraising.
  • Experience utilizing a constituent relation management system (Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce).
  • Experience operating a digital communication platform (Eloqua, Constant Contact)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to think strategically and approach challenges with creativity.
  • Demonstrated track record of reliability, meeting goals, and holding oneself accountable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience working effectively across teams.
  • Knowledge of the principles, best practices, trends, and legal constraints of fundraising and gift solicitation within higher education and athletics.
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Raiser's Edge, Paciolan, and Eloqua.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skill in planning, developing, and producing events and special projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff, faculty, students, and the community in a service-oriented environment.
  • Ability to work successfully as both a member of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to take initiative to plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations when numerous and competing demands are involved.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times.
  • Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
  • Ability to work evenings, nights and weekends as necessary.
