Description
The Shipping Associate will maintain inventory and supplies by receiving, storing, and delivering items, as well as securing warehouse. This position will effectively coordinate all outbound shipments, to include the proper planning and reception of all outgoing materials.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage shipping and receiving: Prepare shipping documents (Packing lists, Bills of ladings, Air waybills, Custom documents).
- Moves inventory by scheduling materials to be moved to and from warehouse; coordinating inventory transfers with related departments.
- Delivers supplies and equipment to departments by receiving and transferring items.
- Maintains storage area by organizing floor space; adhering to storage design principles; recommending improvements.
- Maintains inventory by conducting weekly/monthly physical counts; reconciling variances; inputting data.
- Receive in supplies and parts.
- Meets warehouse operational standards by contributing warehouse information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying warehouse system improvements.
- Generate daily reports – Daily shipping report, Assembly Orders, etc.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
- Accomplishes warehouse and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
- Presence in the workplace is an essential function of this job.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience in related field (Preferred).
- Fed-Ex, UPS Worldship and all standard shipping software (Preferred).
- Proficient computer and Microsoft Office knowledge, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Skill and ability to control use of resources.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be an effective team member; communicate and cooperate with other personnel.
- Ability to work independently and complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ability to work daily and overtime as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Standing position and includes frequent walking, lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to push or pull up to 150 lbs.
- Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, twist, grasp, and reach.
- This position occasionally works in an industrial environment and may be exposed to dust, fumes, hazardous chemicals, and loud noises and changes in temperature.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
