Process Oversight: Supervise and participate in the background screening process, including verification of criminal history, education, employment, and other relevant checks.

Quality Assurance: Review completed background checks for accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Training and Development: Train new hires and provide ongoing training for existing staff on procedures, regulations, and best practices.

Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and vendors related to background screening services.

Compliance: Stay updated on changes to laws and regulations affecting background screening and ensure that all processes are compliant.

Case Management: Handle escalated cases or discrepancies, coordinating with legal or compliance departments as needed.

Reporting: Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on department performance metrics, compliance, and other key indicators.

Team Leadership: Lead the Backgrounds Department team, providing supervision, performance reviews, and professional development opportunities.

Software Management: Master the use of background screening software and systems, and offer recommendations for improvements or new technologies.

Customer Support: Assist in resolving client issues and concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Human Resources, or related field. Additional certifications in background screening or compliance are highly beneficial.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in background screening, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in background screening software and platforms, as well as standard office software.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities.

Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities for interpreting laws, analyzing data, and reviewing background checks.

Compliance Awareness: In-depth understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations affecting background screening.

Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively.

Legal: Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
