We are currently looking for an Especialista Comercio Exterior to join our team in Toluca.
This position will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective internal controls, ensuring compliance with foreign trade certifications and authorizations, assessing customs and trade risks, and developing innovative strategies to strengthen the company's customs compliance framework.
The Customs and Trade Operations Specialist will collaborate with internal stakeholders, customs brokers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with import/export regulations, support continuous improvement initiatives, and contribute to the efficiency and integrity of Nissan's foreign trade operations.
A Day in the Life:
- Perform tariff classification and customs analysis for international trade operations.
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls within import and export processes to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Analyze and monitor compliance with Non-Tariff Regulations and Restrictions applicable to foreign trade operations.
- Conduct and support internal and external audits to identify, assess, and mitigate customs and financial risks.
- Develop, document, and maintain internal processes and procedures while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with foreign trade obligations arising from certifications, permits, authorizations, and other regulatory programs applicable to the automotive industry.
- Support the negotiation, implementation, and management of suppliers involved in Virtual Operations, ensuring continuity and compliance of the program.
- Monitor customs compliance risks and recommend corrective actions when required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness of foreign trade operations.
- Support compliance initiatives aligned with corporate and regulatory requirements.
Who We're Looking For:
Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in International Trade, International Business, International Relations, Customs Law, International Logistics, or related field.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in Foreign Trade, Customs Operations, Customs Compliance, Trade Agreements, or related areas.
- Experience as a Customs Analyst, Trade Agreement Analyst, Customs Compliance Analyst, Customs Operations Analyst, or similar role.
- Knowledge of import/export processes and customs compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint (Intermediate level).
- Fluent English and Spanish communication skills in business and executive environments.
- Self-driven attitude, resilience, openness to continuous improvement, teamwork mindset, and curiosity.
