Description
Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics (3PL) provider, is seeking a Logistics Professional to join our growing team.
The Customs Brokerage Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of U.S. import customs brokerage and import operations. This role will manage daily import activity, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain strong customer relationships, and lead a high-performing team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead daily customs brokerage and air/ocean import operations, ensuring timely and accurate customs clearance and shipment handling.
- Oversee import entry writing, classification, valuation, documentation, billing, and post-entry activities.
- Ensure compliance with CBP regulations, PGA requirements, customer SOPs, and company policies.
- Serve as the escalation point for complex customs, import, operational, and customer issues.
- Manage customer relationships and support customer retention and business growth.
- Monitor department productivity, service levels, profitability, and operational performance.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Hire, train, coach, and develop team members while managing performance and staffing needs.
- Work closely with carriers, customers, and internal teams to ensure smooth import operations.
- Stay current on changes to U.S. customs regulations, tariffs, and government agency requirements.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), required
- CCS certification, preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
- 7+ years of U.S. customs brokerage and import operations experience.
- Supervisory or management experience in customs brokerage and/or import operations.
- Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, and PGA requirements.
- Strong experience with air and ocean imports and entry writing.
- Experience managing departmental budgets, profitability, and business growth.
- Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- CargoWise experience, highly preferred
