Job Description:

We are seeking an Analyst or Associate, Convertible Bonds, to join the High Yield Credit team at TD Asset Management. The role will focus primarily on supporting the team’s convertible bond strategy while also contributing to the broader research and portfolio management needs of the High Yield team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform fundamental research on assigned convertible issuers, including business quality, credit analysis & modelling, equity valuation, management, competitive dynamics, catalysts and downside risks; build and present the investment thesis and recommendation, and monitor it as fundamentals and markets evolve.
  • Build and maintain financial models incorporating credit analysis and equity valuation to assess issuer fundamentals and investment outcomes.
  • Source, verify, and synthesize financial data, security terms, market developments, and industry information into a clear investment view.
  • Value convertible securities using relevant measures including conversion premium, parity, delta, bond floor, yield, spread, and scenario-based return analysis.
  • Analyze prospectuses and trust indentures, including conversion terms, calls, puts, covenants, and other relevant structural provisions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the team’s convertible bond strategy, including its research, analytical and investment processes.
  • Conduct timely analysis of primary-market opportunities and support broader research and portfolio management needs of the High Yield team.
  • Manage relationships with sell-side contacts, rating agencies, third-party research providers, and management teams.
  • Demonstrate comfort using AI/LLM-based tools and creating value-added research workflows.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required; progress toward the CFA designation preferred.
  • Relevant investment research experience preferred; level will be based on experience.
  • Strong accounting, finance, financial modelling, valuation, writing, and communication skills.
  • Experience using Bloomberg and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with convertible bonds, public equities, or high yield credit research is an asset.
  • Knowledge and/or interest in the technology sector, including software and AI infrastructure, and biotechnology is an asset.
