The Interventional Pain Medicine team is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals experiencing complex and chronic pain conditions. Our providers utilize evidence-based practices, advanced minimally invasive technologies, and fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided techniques to provide comprehensive interventional pain management.

Work/Life Balance: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., with no weekends, nights, or call. Potential opportunity for extended workdays to accommodate a four-day workweek.

Where You’ll Work
The Interventional Pain Medicine service at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a highly qualified and motivated NP or PA to join our innovative team at the Brookstown Interventional Pain Center in Winston-Salem.
Our providers share a common mission of addressing the complexities of painful conditions while keeping quality patient care at the center of everything we do. The team utilizes cutting-edge, minimally invasive technology in conjunction with a variety of fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided techniques to provide patients with interventional options for managing pain.
We employ a comprehensive, multimodal approach to pain management with an emphasis on interventional strategies and non-opioid therapies, a vision shared across our service line and department.
What You’ll Do
As a valued member of our healthcare team, the NP/PA will play an integral role in team-based patient care, including comprehensive examinations, evaluations, diagnosis, treatment planning, and ongoing management of patients with chronic and complex pain conditions.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, a commitment to patient education, and familiarity with areas including neurology, neurosurgery, spine medicine, orthopedics, and general medicine.
Our physicians and APPs have developed a strong collaborative relationship built on trust, communication, and a shared commitment to exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities
Utilize medical decision-making skills to develop appropriate, individualized patient care plans.
Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with chronic and complex pain conditions.
Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to provide effective team-based care.
Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
Educate patients regarding the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated outcomes of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Perform procedural skills in accordance with departmental and practice guidelines.
Participate in follow-up care for surgical and interventional procedures.
Precept students and/or other medical learners as appropriate and encouraged.

Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
The clinician will function in accordance with the regulatory requirements of their respective licensing organization—the North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing—and departmental-specific credentialing requirements of the institution.
Physician Assistant Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Master’s degree or higher required.
Current or eligible for North Carolina Medical Board licensure.
Current NCCPA certification.
BLS certification required.
Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
Nurse Practitioner Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner master’s program.
Master’s degree or higher required.
Current or eligible for North Carolina Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licensure.
Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner through AANP or ANCC.
BLS certification required.
Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
