Job Summary:
The Bilingual Health and Wellness Educator will be responsible for delivery of health and wellness programs throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester and Salem counties, translation of materials, and interpretation when needed. The Educator will teach health and wellness classes in English and another language. Classes are taught during the day, evenings, and weekends and may be either remote or in-person. Availability is required during the day, two evenings per week, and one Saturday per month. The Bilingual Health and Wellness Educator will be supervised by the Health and Wellness Senior Manager.
This position requires fluency in English and another language. Bilingual in Spanish and English is preferred.

Final compensation, if applicable, will be determined based on relevant experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver health and wellness programs in both English and another language using provided curriculum
- Teach classes and demonstrations virtually, hybrid, or in-person at sites throughout Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, and Salem Counties; sites may include schools, faith-based organizations, correctional institutions, and social service providers
- Instruct adult and youth learners using a trauma-informed and empathetic approach
- Create a safe and welcoming space for people with diverse or difficult backgrounds; may include individuals who are justice involved, neurodivergent, or living with limited mobility
- Administer electronic or paper surveys and waivers to participants at each class and demonstration
- Set up prior to the start of class or demonstration and clean-up after completion
- Translate FBSJ documents or education materials as needed
- Transport food, cooking equipment, and educational materials between Food Bank of South Jersey in Pennsauken and class sites
- Interpret at FBSJ programs in-person or virtually as needed
- Maintain and track cooking equipment, educational materials, and incentives
- Record program and participant metrics accurately and promptly
- Develop educational tools, including PowerPoint presentations and flyers, in English and another language
- Identify health and wellness education resources and materials
- Assist in recruitment and outreach efforts
- Attend training for program and professional development
- May assist in training Nutrition Assistants, volunteers, and interns in the delivery of classes and demonstrations
- May assist with class scheduling and staffing
- May assist with food and supply ordering, receiving, sorting, and delivery
- Local travel within the FBSJ service area is required
Skills & Abilities:
- Must be fluent in both English and another language
- Must be able to travel to the main site in Pennsauken, NJ on a consistent basis
- Highly organized, flexible, adaptable, and able to multi-task
- Independent worker, self-starter and works well with a team and on his/her own
- Comfortable using platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams
- Comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Comfortable working with and can effectively communicate with people of diverse backgrounds and opinions
- Able to attend trainings on curriculum and follow class lessons as prescribed
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends
- Able to safely lift 35 pounds
- Able to use personal vehicle to travel and transport equipment, food, and class materials
Qualification and Experience:
- College degree in health, nutrition, dietetics, or other wellness related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Proficiency in food safety and preparation
- Proficiency in administrative tasks, including data entry and common digital tasks
- Clean driver’s license
- Clean record on the Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) registry
- Access to reliable transportation and ability to carry and transport cooking equipment and supplies
- Knowledge of common adult and child learning theories/models preferred
- Knowledge of common behavior change theories/models preferred
- Fluency in English and another language required
