Summary
Bear Mountain Services, a division of All Native Group and Ho Chunk, Incorporated, is seeking an exceptional Quality Assurance Specialist (QAS) I to provide detailed proofreading, editorial, and compliance checks for all Career Training Continuum (CTC) curriculum revisions. Reporting to the QAS II, you serve as the first line of defense against curriculum errors, ensuring that all products adhere to the NAVEDTRA 142 standards. You focus on the technical and instructional consistency of lesson plans, assessments, and media assets before they move to higher-level review. Your work ensures that every deliverable is polished, professional, and ready for the NTP Phase IV pilot.
Essential Functions
- Editorial Review: Conduct thorough proofreading and formatting checks on all courseware artifacts to ensure 100% adherence to the NAVEDTRA 142.
- Compliance Verification: Assist in verifying that all updated training products meet Section 508 accessibility standards for delivery via TRANET VDI.
- Comment Tracking: Assist in the documentation and tracking of pilot comments and internal QA findings to ensure all identified errors are corrected.
- Data Integrity: Verify the alignment between learning objectives and test items across multiple rating portfolios to ensure instructional soundness.

- Demonstrated experience working in all five phases of the Instructional Systems Design model
- Demonstrated experience creating assessments
- Excellent writing, proofreading and design skills to develop training course materials
- Must possess excellent written and spoken use of the English language
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills; and attention to detail
- Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Work Environment
This job operates in executive settings with frequent engagement at the highest levels of Navy leadership. This role uses executive office equipment and classified communication systems.
Physical Demands
The physical demands are typical of executive positions, with extensive travel and high-stress decision-making requirements. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time executive position with flexible hours based on mission requirements.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out of the area travel and overnight may be expected
Experience
Less than 3 years of relevant experience in the evaluation of instructional products or technical writing.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in English, Instructional Design, or a related field.

Recognized as a specialty area expert in a specific Naval rating
